Carly and Bo discuss her daughter, Roman leads the search for Sydney and Nicole changes her look once she lands in Cleveland.
Bo thinks it’s a bad idea for Carly to move into Maggie’s place with her daughter, thinking it’ll put the girl’s life in danger. Vivian’s out for revenge. Carly’s not concerned. Vivian doesn’t know that she had a daughter. Lawrence wouldn’t have told her. She recounts how when Lawrence learned he couldn’t have children and how obsessed he became. When he learned she cheated on him and became pregnant, he might have forgiven her before the illness but that didn’t happen. He hated the idea that her daughter existed, enjoyed the pain Carly went through and forced her to give her child away to some man. "And he smiled." They look at a photo of the girl and Carly says she was so sweet and happy. Carly flashes back to Lawrence looking at a photo of Carly’s daughter but he won’t let Carly see it. The girl has Carly’s eyes. Lawrence says the screaming in his head will stop when the girl is dead and he crumples the photo. Carly cries on Bo’s shoulder and flashes back to Lawrence ripping up the photo and saying that it’s no use. It’s too late now. She flashes back to killing Lawrence then, saying she did so to save her daughter. Later, neither can sleep. Bo misses his daughters all the time and Carly knows. She doesn’t even know hers! There’s so much to learn but she won’t show much interest in the girl so that Vivian won’t suspect anything. Later, Bo makes a call to Chelsea to say hello. He tells Carly about Chelsea and Carly worries her daughter won’t accept or forgive her. Bo says he had Chelsea had turmoil but it was worth it to get them to where they’re at now.
EJ yells at somebody on the phone to find Nicole and Sydney. Stefano thinks he should prepare to lose Sydney for good. They’ll never find Nicole, who has been three steps ahead of EJ this whole year. She’s a formidable opponent. EJ sarcastically says that’s wonderful. Stefano’s cheering for the kidnapper because she’s got a good fight in her. Stefano says he understands her. She’s like a DiMera. She understands family while EJ banished his. Kate arrives and asks if they can stop the yelling and if EJ can stop threatening his father. They need to be on the same side. Roman arrives and agrees with Kate. They should shut up. He wants permission to send a search team to cover the grounds. EJ agrees to it and Roman sends out a message to his team and asks the DiMera men to call off their goons. EJ can’t trust the Salem PD, who hired a kidnapper recently but Roman points out that he should be careful of trigger happy goons who could get Sydney killed. Stefano gives Roman 24 hours and Roman asks EJ to call Nicole. "Tell her you won’t press charges and you love her." Roman wants to trace the call. Later, when Roman is given a mug shot of Nicole, Kate comments, "My word. She looks like Maw Barker." EJ shouts for Stefano to get Kate out of there and Kate asks, "I thought he was moving out?" They leave and EJ provides Roman with a photo of Sydney.
In the foyer, Stefano takes a call and asks the goon on the other line to keep him posted. Kate smirks. She thought he was giving Roman 24 hours. Stefano can’t leave a Brady in charge. EJ interrupts as Kate and Stefano are discussing whether or not Stefano is on Nicole’s side. Kate promises to be more sensitive to EJ and apologizes that she didn’t stop Nicole. EJ knows it’s not her fault and heads upstairs. Once he’s gone, Stefano calls Kate a magnificent liar. Stefano says he wants his granddaughter back and time alone with Nicole. He also thinks EJ needs somebody to hate right now and if that’s him, so be it. His focus is on showing Nicole not to go against a DiMera. Kate finds he has new depths to him.
In the great room, EJ tells Roman he doesn’t think Stefano helped Nicole with this.
Sami and Rafe check their cell phones in the woods. Rafe says his friend at the FBI told him the Salem PD didn’t file all of the charges against Nicole, so it’s not a Federal issue. Sami runs to look for Nicole but strains her ankle. Rafe says every cop in the city is looking for Nicole. "Chill. For one minute," he says. He’s sure they’ll find Sydney. Tears come as she realizes that Sydney’s she’s safe and happy with Nicole.
On the pier, Ari demands to know why Gabi’s suddenly wearing a bracelet that could pay for a semester of college. Gabi jokes that she’s turning tricks for jewelry. Nicole listens as Gabi says she can take care of herself. Ari knows her sister’s up to something and wants to know what. Gabi considers since Ari’s living over a bar and dealing drugs, it’s time to stop giving out advice. Ari apologizes. She wants them to be friends. Gabi asks her to get clean and runs off with Ari on her heels. Nicole comes out of hiding and is happy to hear she’s not the only person with secrets. This whole time, Ari’s been doing drugs at the pub! She won’t miss Salem.
Gabi and Ari get back to the pub and Gabi yells that all Ari does is lie. She runs to her room and when Rafe arrives to tell her Nicole took off with Sydney, Ari blames herself. Brady posted Nicole’s bail and she wonders if he’s helping her escape. She calls Brady, who doesn’t answer, and worries that he’ll get into trouble.
Outside on the pier, Sami calls Nicole and asks her to return with Sydney. They’ll find a way to work things out. Brady overhears the call and feels wretched. He explains that he posted Nicole’s bail. Brady also admits that he was there when Nicole lost the baby. Sami thinks he knew that Sydney wasn’t Nicole’s kid and slaps him across the face. "How dare you. Who do you think you are?" Brady was her friend and didn’t know what she did. He’ll call her and ask her to bring Sydney back but Sami refuses. She doesn’t trust him. Brady yells that he doesn’t even know what Nicole did. Sami says he may be off the coke but he’s still addicted to Nicole.
Nicole arrives in Cleveland and pays for a room. She tells the woman working at the motel that Sydney’s a boy and leaves to get supplies.
Sami arrives at the pub after passing out flyers and Arianna offers to do it for her. Rafe spots Gabi making a run for the door with her back pack. He comforts her and introduces her to Sami, who sees her bracelet and grabs it. "Where did you get this?" Gabi explains and Sami realizes she helped Nicole!
Outside the pub, Brady calls Nicole and tries to convince her to do the right thing.
icole returns to her room, dyes and cuts her hair after removing the locket and diamond engagement ring EJ gave her, saying she needs to make sure nobody knows who she is.
